*The Lakota breast plate was traditionally used as a form of armor to protect the wearers' chest. Today they are worn as decoration, and used as wall hangings.

*Our breast plates are hand made by Michael Red Thunder from the Rosebud Reservation in South Dakota. Turquoise, buffalo bone, deer hide and feathers decorate his work.
